After getting all essential instructions, we begin our adventure with a ride through Hanoi’s lively streets towards the iconic Long Bien Bridge, where we'll pause for some memorable photos. Leaving the city noise behind, we venture into the peaceful countryside. Ride along the dike through charming local villages, passing traditional houses, pagodas, temples, bustling local markets, and beautiful rice paddies and vegetable farms.
Next, we will visit Ngoc Thuy Market, which is a local hub where residents shop for fresh produce, meats, seafood, and household goods. The market provides a lively and authentic glimpse into local life, with vendors selling a variety of items, including fresh herbs, spices, clothing, and street food. It is a great opportunity to explore Vietnamese culture, especially if you're interested in experiencing everyday commerce in Hanoi and trying some local snacks.
As we head towards Co Loa Citadel, enjoy the serene beauty of Hanoi’s lush rice paddies and terraced fields. We’ll take a short break at a local village bar for refreshments before reaching the highlight of the day, Co Loa Citadel. Founded in the 3rd century BC, this ancient site was once the capital of Vietnam. Discover its impressive walls, gates, An Duong Vuong Temple, and Trong Thuy Prince's Well, all steeped in local legends and history. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the citadel is perfect for exploration and photography. Engage with local villagers and experience their traditional way of life.
During our journey, you will get to try traditional Vietnamese food at a local restaurant and experience the rich and vibrant flavors of Vietnam's cuisine. This meal offers you a real taste of the country's culture and creating unforgettable memories along the way.
To end our lovely Countryside Bicycle Tour, we will have a chance to participate in the Egg Coffee demonstration. Egg Coffee, one of the city's most famous and beloved drinks, was invented in the 1940s and has since become a symbol of Hanoi's vibrant coffee culture.
